New Home and Skin
Jul 9th, 2009 by Kiddie Channel

Just realized that its been quite a while since the last update- 6 months- wow! That’s a long time by our reckoning. Hey! We have a brand new look too- don’t know how long it will stay in this V3 state, there’ll be other tweaks planned.

Anyway, we have decided to ‘relaunch’ the site; taking advantage of a new social blogging system. Actually, it’s just to make it easier for Papa to administer the few blogs that he runs under one central system. But enough of the techie boring part- real updates will commence real soon.

Stay tuned for the continued adventures of the Kiddie Crew- the cheeky monkees have growned up some since the last update- ‘specially the wee one ;)

Papa has been so distracted by so many things that I have forgotten to update this little blog. I even missed making the Eid ul Fitri wish and posting the pics up, as what is starting to become a tradition these past few years. Since it is still within the month of Syawal, let me extend my apologies to everyone for any mistakes, wrong doing or harsh words that I have made within the confines of this blog or outside. Including not updating it near dilligently enough.

To make amends I include here a card that Emily has made for her Papa. She gave it to me this morning before work and I was just so pleased to receive it. She still knows how to get to her Papa. Em, if you’re reading this, know that I love you so very much.Like A Big Rainbow

The rest of the pics will have to come later… haha.

Kiddie Crew in Singapore- Part 2
Dec 5th, 2007 by Kiddie Channel

Day 2 saw the continuing theme of the kiddies waking up waaay early despite a late night. Since, we’ve made arrangements to go to the wedding around noon, the morning was so called free and easy.

At the wedding, kids being kids, they disappeared to the playground almost immediately. Only returning now and again for a quick drink. Kakak Siti however, won a prize for answering a teka-teki: -

Apa benda bila kita baring dia tegak, tapi bila kita duduk dia baring?“What’s straight when you lie down, but lays flat when you sit? Answer- Soles of your feet!”"

Nothing much happened until later that night. Uncle Harrison was entertaining us with the guitar and singing lots of classic english and malay rock songs. For his trouble, we dubbed him “Man Boy” after Man BaiThe footage shown was from the evening before..

We also got our hands on a “reality” ghost hunt video, and nearly everyone was hiding behind a pillow, watching the show in the dark. Shahira as usual (during horror movies) made herself scarce, and sat alone in the kitchen. It was only after she was so tired that she reluctantly agreed to follow Papa to the Living Room and snuggled up to sleep. Alisha of course lodged herself in between Shahira and Papa, and too, fell asleep.

By the end of the show, most of the kiddies had fallen asleep, and had to be woken up for the trip back home to Man Boy’s place. This proved to be a tiring affairs as getting them up was not so easy, especially my big girl. Once in the car, they nodded off again, which necessitated a repeat exercise to wake them up. Shahira was crying to be carried up; but do you know what gets the cake? When Papa returned after parking the car a block away, they were all (except for Alisha) fully awake and bouncing around. Hish!

Papa went straight to bed.

The Kiddie Crew In Singapore
Dec 1st, 2007 by Kiddie Channel

We arrived safely at the Singapore checkpoint at about 2045hrs, after a fairly easy drive. We left KL at about 4ish, which made it a relatively slow drive. This was mostly due to the fact that Papa decided to be very law abiding on the 1st part of the journey. Unfortunately, the pace didn’t agree with Papa, and he was visibly trying to fight slumber.

So, a quick stop was in order, and we spent some time for the Asar Prayers at the Linggi R&R. Thereafter, approaching 6pm, enough was enough. Feeling sleepy during a long journey was certainly not the safe thing to do. Time to add a little excitement, so the pace was upped ‘a bit’. We made good time and Papa was really enjoying the performance of the Skoda.

Day 1- Singapore

Surprisingly, even after sleeping late (2am late), the kiddies woke up early. Haris as usual woke up about the time Papa and Mama performs the Solat around 6am. Soon after Alisha woke- all smiley and not cranky; and she was the last to nod off (singing herself to sleep). And as usual, Shahira was the last one up, but not that long after. If only it’s this easy every morning for school!

With the proprietors of the Pasir Ris Renaissance off to work, the care of the Kiddie Crew was left in the hands of Aunty Chris. She arrived very early with breakfast in hand- nasi lemak; and prepared beef sausages wrapped in Roti Canai (or Roti Prata as the people of Kiasuland calles ‘em) for good measure.

As a quick summary, the following were the highlights of the day: -

Alisha stepped on dog poo and left traces on Papa’s car seat, when we went to put up more parking coupons. Thus, an easy stroll turned out to be more work.
The kiddies ‘tortured’ Mia Sara’s pet hamster.
Mama had an great adventure getting 6 kiddies ready (although Mia Sara and Haziq really dressed themselves.
At 11:15, Papa dropped Mama, Alisha, Shahira, Mia Sara and Haris off at White Sands. Papa took Aunty Chris, Haziq and Shafiq to pick up Aunty Mel and Kakak Siti at Changi Airport.
We joined back Mama at White Sands and had lunch at Swensen’s- 4 adults, 1 teenager, 4 hyper kids and 1 sleepy toddler. You can imagine the drama.
With everyone getting tired (the adults more than the kiddies), we headed back to Aunty Chris’ place for a bit of R&R. The kids powered on but all the adults fell flat asleep (except for this Hero, who found sustenance in logging into Facebook and updating this blog).
The plan is to head out again to Orchard Road to see the lights at night; but we’ll see…

Updated: -

That night we went for dinner at the Singapore equivalent of the Mamak scene. During the course of dinner, Alisha puked- several times (she was phlegmy). Pity those sitting around us… hee hee. Of course her concerned sister came along to see what’s going on. Well, you can imagined what happened next…

Over at the other end, Kakak Siti was looking a bit queasy. Fortunately for everyone, she managed to hold it in. What a night! They had to clear a whole row of tables behind us, just because. Mama, even heard someone exclaimed “How gross!” during the episode. Papa’s only comment is- just wait till you have you own kids and see how gross their puke of warm milk is.

Later that night, we went over to the bridegroom’s place, just to drop by. Reportedly, they were serving up sup gearbox.

While the adults caught up with each other, the kiddies were running loose at the playground behind. We all went back home late, and yet they still had the energy to stay up till around 2 am.

So concludes out 1st day in Singapore.

This was what Aunty Wiz had to say: -

Dear Adik Ridzman,

Apologies are not at rest,
for a cake that didn’t look its best.
An action that was never done,
deliberately or for fun.
I tried my best to keep it nice,
but sometimes long distance is a vice.
I placed it on my lap for extra care,
my kids weren’t allowed to touch it, they didn’t dare!
It was raining hard through and through,
we kept braking, something we hated to do.
The heavy traffic didn’t really help either,
the road was slippery, it didn’t get any better.
When it stopped raining, I was truly glad,
but when I saw the cake I was really sad.
It wasn’t the same cake I worked on for 3 days,
the base was smudged, the details were fazed.
I couldn’t fix it to look like the original,
No matter how hard I tried, it was just impossible,
just to make it look nice again like it was before,
patched things up, as long as it wasn’t an eyesore.
It was your 7th birthday, you deserved much better,
how I wished Reina, Alonso, Crouch, Kuyt and Carragher,
could be there in person serenading you the birthday jingle,
just to make you happy coz I know the cake surely didn’t.

My heartfelt apology to Adik Ridzman and family.
A discount of 50% for your next cake purchase is all I could offer for now. Hope that compensates the whole ordeal of celebrating with an incomplete cake.

Warmest regards
Auntie Wiz
