July whizzed by so fast. It’s the in between the birthday months, and also we were fast approaching the fasting month. Papa remembered clearly one day driving Alisha and Dina to Kindie, they were giggling like mad little girls (they were little girls after all). When Papa looked around at a red light, imagine my surprise when I saw what they did. She could even be so proud as to “present” her work to Papa. The tool for this “art piece”? A simple eraser. Sigh…

August 2010

August saw Em and Haris turning 10 and 8, respectively. However, this year, the celebrations were muted as the dates fell within Ramadhan. In Haris’ case, the 1st day of Ramadhan. Papa couldn’t be around that night, as he had to be on duty for an event in Times Square. The very first birthday that Papa missed. Hopefully also the very last. We never actually managed to have a proper celebration for their birthdays at all that year

September 2010

Raya Aidil Fitri! Yeaaa!!! After a month long of fasting. Em and Haris nearly did the whole stretch… well done. As is tradition, the Kiddie Crew went to perform the Eid Prayers in the morning. This year we went to Masjid Wilayah. After the prayers and the sermon, we went home before going celebrating at the Grandparents places.

Wishing all Muslim around the world, and in Malaysia spesifically, a blessed Ramadhan, acceptance of all our ibadah and ultimate forgiveness of Allah for all our sins.

As a reminder to myself as well, let’s not just aim to perform our fast but to also avoid the things that will reduce the effect of our ibadah.

It never rains but it pours. August – September are busy months for this clan.

So we extend the warmest of wishes to our Aunty Rita. May she be healthy and happy; and make it easy for us by telling Mama what she wants for her birthday gift.

That’s the problem with having a string of birthdays, you run out of ideas on gifts . In the meantime, enjoy this special shout out to you from all of us.

Mama and Papa went to Gas Malaysia’s 15th Anniversary Dinner at PJ Hilton on 1st September 2007. Well, there were some Japanese guests that formed part of the pioneer team when the company first started ages ago. To cut a long story short, they had Dafi (AF5), Aznil and Misha Omar as performers.

They also Sazzy Falak as emcee- guess Gas Malaysia spared no expense. Anyway, Mama remembered (at some point) to record Misha Omar rendition of this famous Japanese song. She had the whole floor singing along- Japanese and Malaysian. Now what song can bring these 2 cultures together? Hear it for yourself…
